Tens of thousands of PIV units are installed every year in the UK, however, many are not installed in accordance with recognised good practice guidance. Along with lots of useful design and application advice, this presentation covers the calculations required to determine airflows as well as where PIV enhancement extract fans should also be fitted to optimise system performance.

Decentralised Mechanical Ventilation (dMEV) System design, installation and commissioning in existing homes

Continuous running extract fans are becoming increasingly popular over intermittent fans. Unfortunately, many such fans are wrongly applied leaving the home occupants disappointed and landlords at risk of claims of inadequate ventilation being provided under the Homes (Fitness for Human Habitation) Act. This presentation covers design and application advice along with the calculations required to determine the individual and combined airflows for such fans.
